University Lecturer, Discipline coordinator in Russian and Eurasian Studies. I am a political scientist whose work focuses on the connections between security policy, public administration and societal change. I was granted the title Docent by the National Defence University in 2010. Since 2017, I have been the principal investigator on the Migration, Shadow Economy and Parallel Legal Orders in Russia. With my colleagues, I am examining the effects of Central Asian job-related migration on Russia's societal change. In addition to international academic projects, I have carried out several commissioned projects for offices of the Finnish Government, including the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministries of Justice, Internal Affairs and Defence. I have collaborated with the Police, the Customs and the Finnish Border Guard. My academic board memberships have included the NORRUSS program in the Research Council of Norway since 2010. I teach on the new Master's Programme in Russian Studies.
